Hi everyone, today i’m going to make vegetarian steamed buns. It is very healthy and very good to eat. So let’s begin to warm 1 cup of milk in a microwave for 30 seconds. Then add 2 tsp of sugar and stir well until the sugar dissolved. Then add active dry yeast and give it a very good stir. Cover with a plastic wrap and let it rest for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, the mixture should be foamy like this. In a big bowl, combine three cups of all purposed flour, two teaspoons of corn starch, two and a half teaspoons of baking powder, quarter teaspoon of salt, half cup of sugar. Then pour in one teaspoon of vegetable oil, and squeeze in about half teaspoon of lime juice. Then pour in the yeast and milk mixture and knead until smooth. The more you knead, the fluffy and delicious your buns will get. Cover with a plastic wrap and let it rest for two hours or until the dough about double in size.

In a small bowl, add half teaspoon of sugar, quarter teaspoon of salt, three teaspoons of soy sauce, two teaspoons of hoisin sauce, half teaspoon of sesame oil, quarter teaspoon of ground pepper. And stir well until the sugar dissolved, and set aside. Soak dried Chinese mushrooms and black fungus in hot water for 10 minutes. Then rinse and drain well. Cut carrot and jicama into very small cubes. Dice yellow onion well. We also chop green onions finely, and also dice Chinese mushrooms and also mince black fungus coarsely, or you can use a food processor to mince the fungus if you have one. Heat one teaspoon of oil in a saucepan on medium-high heat. Then place in diced yellow onion and stir well until we smell fragrance. Then pour in the rest of diced carrot, jicama, and mushrooms. And stir fry for 3 minutes or until all the vegetables are just tender, and add peas, Pour in one cup of vegie ground beef. For this one, you can find it at some local stores, or if you don’t have it, you can use tofu instead.

Now pour in the sauce that we prepared earlier. Continue to stir fry for one minutes. And finally, add green onions and about half teaspoon of corn starch. Mix them up and we are done. After two hours divide the dough into ten parts equally. Take one dough and flatten it. Scoop out the filling and place it in the center of the dough, and fold the dough into layers to cover the filling, and twist to secure the bun. Place a bun into a muffin liners. If you have any ugly one, you can make a little panda for your little ones. And arrange the buns into a steamer layers and remember to leave space so that the buns will have rooms to rise.

Cover the top and steam for 15 minutes. And also wipe off the lid every five minutes so that the water doesn’t drip into the buns. Tadah! it smells really good and also looks really delicious.
