For all those that eat low carb or keto diets, there’s nearly always something you can eat in every junk food place or restaurant. It is still good to be familiar with the safe options before being tempted by menu items you should not have on a low carbohydrate diet. There’s usually some salad option anyplace you’re. At Burger joints, just remove the bun, and several places offer lettuce wraps instead. Stick with low sugar dressing options – Caesar, Blue Cheese, Ranch, Chipotle. Check the ingredient for items which are higher in carb content. McDonald’s – opt for any burger or grilled poultry without the bun and topped with cheese, mayo, mustard, onions, etc.

 

The Caesar salad with grilled poultry or the bacon farm salad with roasted turkey is 9g. Burger King – same burger information as McDonald’s: burger without the bun and topped with cheese, mayo, mustard, onions, etc. The tendergrill poultry sandwich without the bread is 3g. BEWARE – you may think the vegetable burger is low, but it’s 19g of carbohydrates, so that is a full day of carbohydrates on keto. The tendergrill poultry garden salad is 8g without dressing or croutons.

 

BONUS – dessert!?! – the fresh apple fries aren’t fried and are 5g net carbohydrates WITHOUT caramel sauce. Stick to the salads, but realize you will only get iceberg lettuce. Bunless options – Six dollar burger, 1\/2 thick burger, charbroiled chicken club sandwich. Grilled poultry salad without croutons is 10g. Mayo has corn syrup and is 1g. The poultry grill fillet is 1 g. It may be ordered in the poultry club sandwich or the ultimate poultry grill sandwich. Best salads: poultry caesar, but poultry salad with grilled chicken. You need to eat double the amount, but if there is a party or dinner out that you cannot avoid at a pizza place, just slide the cheesy toppings off and eat the big messy pile of cheese and toppings.

 

Mongolian Barbecue – YES! Load up your bowl with poultry, shrimp, onion slices, and mushrooms, then top with the Asian black bean sauce. Italian Restaurants – These take a little cunning, but they can be conquered. Ideas: how about poultry Marsala in an Italian place? Make sure it does not come with pasta. Substitute broccoli or some other keto friendly side dish – or a big salad. Chicken piccata is also a possibility. Mexican and Chinese restaurants are the most difficult because any low carb option isn’t the reason to go to the restaurant in the first place.
